BENGHAZI – The General Command of the Libyan National Army (LNA) issued a statement on Saturday via its spokesman, General Brigadier Ahmed al-Mismari.

According to the statement, Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar, General Commander of LNA, had issued orders to some sectors of LNA to move to the south with the aim of reducing the suffering, establishing the law, supporting the legitimate institutions, and fighting criminal gangs.

General Brigadier Al-Mismari pointed out in the statement that LNA is a national institution whose purpose is to protect the homeland and its citizens. He said the army would not stand against any social component over another. He also affirmed that the army’s goal is one safe homeland where everyone is equal before the law.

General Brigadier Al-Mismari added that some factions are against these goals and they seek to instigate sedition between citizens and legitimate institutions.

The military spokesman pointed out that the army denounces those who post clips on social media sites to brag against and insult some social components. He stressed that the army disowns such individuals.

General Brigadier Al-Mismari affirmed that legal action will be taken against anyone who carries out such acts, which are against the objectives of the military establishment and what it stands for.
