Leader of the Chadian URF admits his troops suffered heavy losses from the French bombardment

N’Djamena |The leader of the so-called “Union of Resistance Forces” (URF) Timane Erdimi his troops suffered heavy losses as a result of the French air strikes in Chadian territory after fleeing from Libya.
In a statement published by the Tchadactuel.com, Erdimi said that French jets carried out strikes around the clock between February 3 and February 7 on a geographical area that extends to about 700 km.
He stressed that the air strikes led to enormous human and material losses in his troops; and forced some of the survivors, because of hunger and thirst, and the depletion of fuel, to surrender to the Chadian government forces.
The Libyan National Army (LNA) is engaged in military operations in southern Libya along the border with Chad against local and foreign militias engaged in smuggling, illegal immigration, and terrorist acts in the region. It is believed that the Chadian opposition forces to be part of these militias, according to LNA Spokesperson.
