UNICEF & officials from Zuwarah & Zawiya discuss cooperation on EU-funded program

ZUWARAH – A team of the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) met on Sunday with education officials from from Zuwarah and Zawiya municipalities to discuss the education support to be provided to the selected schools within the framework of an EU-funded program.

During the discussions, important priorities were identified which included the maintenance of the water and sanitation facilities within the schools, provision of the essential school supplies and furniture, as well as, the capacity building of teachers.

Participants also agreed on prioritizing the empowerment of young leaders to establish projects that would serve positive community initiatives.

This comes as part of the “Recovery, Stability and Socio-Economic Development in Libya” program which is funded by the European Union’s Neighborhood and Enlargement.
