The Address | Benghazi – Libya
TORBUK – The Foreign Ministry of the Interim Government condemned Fayez Al-Sarraj’s abuse of Libya’s diplomatic delegations overseas to pass false allegations and accusations.
This came after the Libyan Ambassador to the United Nations, Elmahdi S. Elmajerbi, sent a letter to the Security Council a few days ago, in which he called on the Council to take action against the Libyan National Army (LNA) over LNA’s warning strike on a plane that violated air embargo in El-Feel oilfield on Saturday.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the ministry said it rejects Elmajerbi’s letter to the the Security Council. The ministry pointed out the LNA’s military operation was authorized by the House of Representatives in order to secure the southern region and liberate it from the foreign presence of Chadian armed rebels.
“The escalation policy pursued by the Al-Sarraj’s government aims at creating tension and aborting all national and international efforts to heal the rift and achieve reconciliation between Libyans.”
The ministry concluded by affirming its support and praising LNA’s efforts in “fighting terrorist groups and liberating Libya from terrorism and those who support it.”
