Al-Saidi to the British Ambassador: the subject of holding parliamentary or presidential elections is due to the Libyan people

The Address | Benghazi – Libya

TOBRUK – Ali Al-Saidi, the House of Representatives member, on Monday condemned remarks made by the UK ambassador to Libya, Frank Baker, that his country rejects presidential election and accepts parliamentary one with keeping the current Presidential Council.

Al-Saidi said that Libya is a sovereign state, pointing out that the Libyan people are those who decide their fate, not Britain or any other country.

Saidi added that the operation of the Libyan National Army in the south of Libya and controlling the al-Sharara Oilfield is a step in the right direction.

He called on the members of the House of Representatives to restructure the National Oil Corporation with considering the regional and geographical factors in the Management Committee.
