GNA political adviser denies its opposition to LNA operations in the South

TRIPOLI – Al-Tahir al-Sunni, political adviser to the Tripoli-based Government of National Accord (GNA), confirmed that their position is still firm on the fight against terrorism, saying that the fight against terrorism is not exclusive to anyone and is not for political gains.

“Every Libyan who was killed fighting terrorism is a martyr for homeland, whether he was from the forces of GNA or the forces of the Libyan National Army (LNA) or any other force,” al-Sunni said in a tweet on Friday.

GNA has not and will never stand against any action to eliminate IS-Libya and other terrorist groups in the east, west, north or south of Libya, adding, “They are united to kill us Let us unite to crush them down.”

It is noteworthy that LNA had launched a military operation a month ago to eliminate terrorist groups, criminal gangs and Chadian opposition forces from southern Libya, where it controlled major cities and oil fields in the region and still pushing south to the borders with Chad and Niger.
