The Address | Benghazi – Libya
AL-SHARARA – The Commander of al-Karama Operations Room of the Libyan National Army (LNA), Maj. Gen. Abdul Salam Al-Hassi, the Commander of the Sabha Military Region, Maj. Gen. Al-Mabrouk Al-Ghazawi, and LNA Spokesman Brigadier General, Ahmed Al-Mesmari, visited al-Sharara oil field on Sunday.
They were received by the commanders of the forces securing the field, the field manager and some workers, where they toured its facilities as well as the positions of the troops stationed around the field.
Al-Karama Operations Room in the southern region will prepare a security report on al-Sharara oil field after removing the mines and the remnants of arms and ammunition and securing it in the near and long term, LNA Spokesman said.
LNA will officially announce the handover of the field to the competent authorities, Al-Mismari said on Sunday in an interview with Al Arabiya TV channel.
LNA will prevent the entry of any military in the field even from the Oil Facilities Guard, which will have to secure the field from outside, the Spokesman pointed out.
It is noteworthy that LNA had taken over al-Sharara oil field without fighting.
