Libya, Italy & EU agencies discuss migration crisis in Tunisia

TUNIS – Representatives from Libya, Italy and European Union agencies held an “important meeting” in Tunisia to discuss the migration crisis in the Mediterranean.

Interlocutors met to “take stock of achievements and way ahead for partnership on reinforcement of Libyan borders, fight against human trafficking and humanitarian assistance to migrants,” according to the Italian embassy.

Interlocutors included representatives of Libya, Italy, EU’s Border Assistance Mission in Libya (EUBAM Libya), EU NAVFOR Med Operation Sophia, European Border and Coast Guard Agency (Frontex) and the International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD).
