TRIPOLI – Tripoli court will issue its final ruling today in the case of a group of individuals known as the ‘Hamas cell’, sources revealed.

Sources in the Office of the Attorney General said that sentences have already been issued against some of the defendants, including Marwan al-Ashqar, Jamal Abed and Nassib Mohammed Shabir, all of whom are Palestinians.

Sources said that the Director of the Bureau of Investigation in the Office of the Attorney General, Siddiq Al-Sour, will issue a briefing on the case later today. During the briefing, Al-Sour will reveal details of the verdict including the length of the sentences issued against the mentioned defendants.

Al-Sour announced the arrest of this group of Palestinians last year. He said those individuals are members of the Palestinian Hamas movement. Al-Sour explained that they are in violation of the Libyan law which prohibits foreign operatives from conducting activities inside Libya.
