MURZUQ – Armed men affiliated with the Chadian armed opposition have murdered on Wednesday night a security official in the town of Murzuq, southwest of Libya.

Director of Murzuq’s Security Directorate, General Ibrahim Mohamed Kari, was killed inside his house by the armed men before they vandalized the house and stole the cars parked outside of it.

Sources told The Address that Kari was assassinated over a wireless order he issued to his security forces to join forces of the Libyan National Army (LNA) and allow them to enter Murzuq.
