HoR Foreign Affairs Committee warns against foreign meddling in Libya

The Address | Benghazi – Libya

TOBRUK – The Foreign Affairs Committee of the House of Representatives issued a statement on Monday, in which it warned against foreign meddling in Libya’s internal affairs.

The Committee accused unnamed ambassadors and international organizations of interfering in Libya and called on those ambassadors and organizations to abide by diplomatic regulations.

The Committee also warned the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) of meddling in the country’s affairs. The Committee stated that UNSMIL’s role is “to support the Libyan people, not to become their guardian.”

The House’s committee concluded the statement by reiterating its support for the military operation conducted by the Libyan National Army (LNA), in Libya’s southern region.
