EU pledges to help lift the ban on Libyan airlines

TRIPOLI – Transportation Minister of the Tripoli-based Government of National Accord (GNA), Milad Maatouk, met on Wednesday the European Union’s ambassador to Libya, Alan Bugeja, in Tripoli.

During the meeting, Maatouk and Alan Bugeja discussed bringing the views of the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and the Libyan Civil Aviation Authority closer in order to lift the European air embargo imposed on Libya’s national airlines.

They also discussed EU’s support to the Libyan Air Navigation Department to benefit from the services of the European satellite navigation system.
