Germany’s ambassador visits Gharyan to discuss disposing missile fuel

GHARYAN – Germany’s ambassador to Libya, Oliver Owcza, visited on Saturday the municipality of Gharyan where he met with local officials to discuss a number of issues including disposing missile fuel stored in the municipality.

Owcza met with members of Gharyan’s Municipal Council as well as military officials of the Tripoli-based Government of National Accord (GNA).

During his visit, Owcza visited the sites of Ghot Al-Reeh and Erban, south of Gharyan, where a Germany-funded project for disposing missile fuel will take place. Owcza stated that he shares the health and environmental concerns of local population. He affirmed that more coordinated efforts is necessary and the next steps regarding the project will be announced later on.
