UNHCR evacuates 128 migrants from Libya to Niger

TRIPOLI – The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) announced on Monday the evacuation of  128 migrants from Libya to Niger.

UNHCR stated via Twitter that the migrants were evacuated after being released from detention thanks to UNHCR’s own advocacy.

The migrants will be hosted at UNHCR’s facility of Evacuation Transit Mechanism (ETM) in Niamey. This is the third evacuation flight to UNHCR’s ETM facility in Niamey this year.
