BENGHAZI – The Libyan Address Journal has learned that another round of meetings between Marshal Khalifa Haftar, the General Commander of the Libyan National Army, and Fayez al-Sarraj, the Chairman of the Presidential Council will begin in the middle of next week.
The source, who asked not to be named, confirmed today that the negotiations and meetings between al-Sarraj and Marshal Haftar will be indirect. They will take place in the UAE capital Abu Dhabi under the auspices of the United Nations and under international pressure on both parties, the source added.
The United Nations Mission of Support in Libya announced that Marshal Haftar and al-Sarraj had met in the UAE on February 27 and agreed on “the necessity of ending the state of transition in Libya through general elections and on ways to safeguard stability and unify institutions.”
