Essebsi & Salamé discuss latest developments in Libya

TUNIS – Tunisia’s President, Beji Caid Essebsi, held a meeting on Friday with Head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL), Ghassan Salamé, in the capital Tunis.

During the meeting, which was also attended by Tunisian Foreign Minister Khemaies Jhinaoui, Essebsi and Salamé discussed latest developments in Libya and the international and regional efforts exerted to advance the political process in the country.

According to a statement by the Tunisian Presidency, they also discussed the “important role” of the immediate neighboring countries, Tunisia, Algeria and Egypt in helping the UN efforts to “advance the political process in Libya and push the various parties towards dialogue and understanding.”
