17 illegal migrants arrested in eastern Libya

The Address | Benghazi – Libya

AJDABIYA – Seventeen Sudanese illegal migrants were arrested on Tuesday in Al-Wahat district, east of Libya, after they crossed into the country through the joint borders between Libya, Egypt and Sudan.

The migrants were arrested by forces of the Military Intelligence Bureau and local police during their attempt to travel to Libya’s southern region using two cars. They were then handed over to competent authorities for investigation and necessary legal action.

Security forces of the Libyan National Army (LNA) have been working to combat illegal migration in southern Libya as they fear that terrorists and militants are using the migration flow to infiltrate into Libya.
