UNHCR receives Dutch Minister for Migration in Tripoli

TRIPOLI – UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) welcomed Dutch Minister for Migration, Mark Harbers, at its Gathering and Departure Facility in Tripoli, Libya.

The Minister met with refugees and UNHCR partners on the ground to have a first-hand impression on their needs, expectations, and day to day challenges, UNHCR said in a statement today.

UNHCR staff also accompanied the Minister to Tripoli naval base where most refugees and migrants are disembarked by Libyan Coast Guards.

Officials in charge explained their work and the life-saving activities humanitarian actors do at the disembarkation points, the statement said.
