WHO, GNA MoH conduct four-day workshop on RMH Packages of Interventions

TUNIS – World Health Organization (WHO) Country Office for Libya in collaboration with Department of Health Promotion and Health Protection (DHP) of WHO Regional Office for Eastern Mediterranean and the Tripoli-based government of National Accord (GNA) Ministry of Health (MoH) organized in Tunis a four-day National Workshop on Reproductive and Maternal Health (RMH) Packages of Interventions in Line with WHO updated recommendations in Libya.

This workshop took place from 11-14 March 2019 which aimed to introduce the WHO recently updated guidelines on preconception care, family planning , antenatal care and intrapartum care for a positive pregnancy experience and train about 40 participants including reproductive health policy makers , program managers , health providers, academia, researchers, obstetric, gynecologist and midwives professional Association from different regions of Libya as well as representatives of UNICEF, UNFPA, IOM and WHO Regional and Country Offices, WHO reported.

The workshop aimed at discussing and adopting the WHO updated packages of interventions for preconception care, family planning, antenatal care and intrapartum care in Libya; as well as updating participants on key linkages to be strengthened for better integration of RMH services along the continuum of care, according to WHO.
