The Address | Benghazi – Libya
TRIPOLI – Deputy Head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL), Stephanie Williams, arrived on Saturday at the municipality of Wershafana to discuss political and social cooperation.
Williams was accompanied by a UNSMIL delegation of Human Rights, Women’s Empowerment, Political and Security officers.
During her visit, Williams attended a town hall meeting with social, political and tribal figures; security officials and mayors from seven municipalities, including Swani, Aziziya, Amiriya, Zahra, Maamora, Nasriya and Maya.
“I admit that the mission was absent from here in the past years, but I promise you that this visit will mark the beginning of a close relationship w/ all components of this region,” she said during the meeting.
Williams later visited Al-Zahra Hospital and Omar Al-Mukhtar Secondary School in Al-Mamoura area to see first-hand the damage caused by wars in Wershafana.
