GHEDWA – Three kidnapped people were rescued on Monday by the Libyan National Army units in Ghedwa south of Libya, while several terrorists were left dead or arrested.

Military special forces spokesman Miloud Al-Zwai revealed that “a combat mission killed three mercenaries, captured two others, and freed three hostages.”

According to the army spokesman, the killed and detained terrorists have links to murder and armed robbery crimes within the region.

It comes as the army was able to seize back control over southern Libya after the commencement of an anti-crime mission early this year.
