Italy’s ambassador demands GNA to provide safety measure for Italian firm building road

TRIPOLI – Italy’s ambassador to Libya, Giuseppe Buccino Grimaldi, has called on the Tripoli-based Government of National Accord (GNA) to provide security measures for an Italian company awarded a road construction tender to link the far east of the country to the western region.

The request came during a meeting between Grimaldi and GNA’s Transport Minister Milad Matouq, on Sunday.

The road project dubbed “The Alternative Road” will link Imsaad in the east and Ras Ajdair in the far west. Grimaldi requested proper security measures for the work.
