U.S. ambassador & AFRICOM commander arrive in Tripoli

TRIPOLI – The United States ambassador to Libya, Peter W. Bodde, and Commander of United States Africa Command (AFRICOM), Thomas D. Waldhauser, arrived on Tuesday in Tripoli.

Bodde and Waldhauser and their accompanying delegation met with Prime Minister of the Tripoli-based Government of National Accord (GNA), Fayez Al-Sarraj.

According to a statement by GNA’s media office, interlocutors discussed bilateral relations, joint cooperation and latest developments in Libya.

They also affirmed their support for the United Nations peace plan and the upcoming national conference followed by parliamentary and presidential elections.
