LNA seizes control of gold mines exploited by Chadian armed groups in the south

QATRUN – Forces of the Libyan National Army (LNA) on Saturday seized control of gold mines exploited by Chadian armed groups on the Libyan-Chadian borders.

LNA destroyed the mines and burned camps that were used by illegal miners, and filled the holes from which precious metals were extracted.

It is noteworthy that many conflicts erupted over these mines, which bear the number (7-17), the last of which resulted in the death of 30 people from the Arab tribe of Mahamid. In addition to the death and wounding of a number of people from African tribes in the Chadian side, which sought on 29 December to control the mines.
