Civil Aviation Authority: US allowed its aircrafts to pass through Libyan airspace

The Address | Benghazi – Libya

TRIPOLI – Head of Libya’s Civil Aviation Authority, Nasr El Din Shayeb Al-Ayen, said on Saturday that the United States’ Federal Aviation Administration partially lifted the ban against allowing its aircraft to pass through Libyan airspace.

Speaking during a media interview, Shayeb Al-Ayen said the partial lift is a step forward, but it will not be effective until Libya’s airports are secured and provided with services.

Shayeb Al-Ayen also revealed that a meeting was held in Tunisia last week between Libya’s Civil Aviation Authority and European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) to discuss lifting the European Union’s ban on Libyan flights.
