The Address | Benghazi – Libya

TRIPOLI – A group of gunmen stormed the house of civil activist Osama Abuderhaiba in Al-Hadapa area in Tripoli and kidnapped him early morning on Saturday.

Abuderhaiba’s family confirmed the news of his kidnapping to the press and stressed that their son is not wanted by any authority and no arrest warrant or complaint has been issued against him.

The family said that they are holding the Interior Minister of the Tripoli-based Government of National Accord (GNA), Fathi Bashagha, responsible for the fate of their son.

They also called on the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) to intervene in the case and help locate Abuderhaiba.

Aboudrehiba is one of the most prominent civil activists in Tripoli. He is known for his support to the Libyan National Army (LNA) and state institutions. He also opposes terrorist groups and those who adopt political Islam.
