The Address | Benghazi – Libya
TRIPOLI – Head of the Tripoli-based Government of National Accord (GNA), Fayez Al-Sarraj, met on Monday with commission chief of the African Union, Moussa Faki, and his accompanying delegation in Tripoli.
According to a statement by GNA media office, Al-Sarraj and Faki discussed the latest political developments in Libya, including the U.N.-sponsored Libyan National Conference in mid April and the reconciliation conference hosted by AU in Addis Ababa in July.
During the meeting, Faki stressed that the Libyan crisis must be resolved internally; and condemned foreign interference which complicates the crisis.
For his part, Al-Sarrj welcomed the African delegation. He said that he supports “in principle” the proposed reconciliation conference, hoping at the same time that it will be held under the umbrella of the United Nations.
