The Address | Benghazi – Libya
TOBRUK – The Head of the House of Representatives (HoR), Aqila Saleh, met at his residence in Tobruk with United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, accompanied by the UN envoy to Libya, Ghassan Salame.
The meeting discussed the latest developments in the Libyan arena and ways to end the current crisis in the country, in addition to the Libyan National Conference to be held in the city of Ghadames mid-April.
Speaker of the House of Representatives Abdullah Balihak said that during the meeting, it was stressed that the outputs of the National Conference should be in accordance with the will of the Libyans without foreign interference, and that the upcoming elections should be ended by holding parliamentary and presidential elections.
He added that the Head of the House of Representatives stressed the fulfillment of the House of Representatives of all legislative entitlements, the most recent issue of the referendum law on the permanent constitution in the country, and that through the Libyan National Conference, a mechanism should be put to end the current crisis in the country and to hold presidential and parliamentary elections
