EU: Terrorists, criminals involved in Tripoli fighting

The Address | Benghazi – Libya

BRUSSELS – The European Union expressed, in a statement on Libya today, its concern regarding the involvement of terrorist and criminal elements in the fighting in Tripoli, including those listed on the UN Security Council’s sanctions list.

EU called upon the Libyan parties to separate themselves from those elements publicly and on the ground.

The European Union strongly urged all parties to resume political dialogue without delay and to continue to participate in the United Nations-led process to reach a comprehensive political settlement, with the Union pledging to support the efforts of the United Nations Special Representative of Secretary-General, Ghassan Salame.
