The Address | Benghazi – Libya

TRIPOLI – Forces of the Libyan National Army (LNA) are advancing in Tripoli whose residents are welcoming LNA to get rid of militias’ grip, Commander of LNA’s Tripoli Operations Room Major General Abdel Salam Al-Hassi said.

Speaking to Russian news agency Sputnik, Al-Hassi said the army forces are advancing from seven axes towards Tripoli, adding that some units have reached the capital’s eastern and western suburbs while others are 5 kilometers away from the center of the capital.

Al-Hassi pointed out that the length of LNA’s operation in the capital depends on developing events.

With respect to potential foreign intervention, the LNA Major General expressed his disregard for such possibility.

“Let whoever intervenes intervene. We have a goal to reach.” He said.
