TRIPOLI – The militias in Tripoli prevented the families of the victims of the bombing of al-Intisar area of Abu Salim neighborhood and other civilian areas from receiving the bodies of their loved ones for burial, said the Information Military Devision of the Libyan National Army (LNA).

In contact with some hospital officials and other sources, the armed militias urged to conduct a mass funeral at the Martyrs’ Square in Tripoli on the instructions of the Head of the Tripoli-based Government of National Accord (GNA), Fayez al-Sarraj, and GNA Minister of Interior, Fathi Bashagha.

At least four people were killed in heavy shelling on several neighborhoods in Tripoli on Wednesday night.

Abu Salim neighborhood near the Tripoli airport road was bombed early on Wednesday night.

GNA and its militias accused LNA of carrying out the bombing, but LNA confirmed in a statement it is innocent of the bombing.
