TRIPOLI – A medical clinic located in southern Tripoli was hit by heavy rocket shelling on Wednesday evening resulting in heavy material damage but no reports yet of human casualties.
Al-Afia medical clinic, located in Qasr bin Ghashir area, went out of service following the shelling due to power cuts amid fears for the lives of some patients in the resuscitation room.
In addition to the damage caused to the clinic’s electricity generator, three ambulances were damaged and destroyed.
It is noteworthy that the area of Al-Sabia and south of Qasr Ben Ghashir, are under the control of the Libyan National Army (LNA), which has been positioned there since early April.
LNA is facing repeated attack from militias aligned with the Tripoli-based Government of National Accord (GNA).
