UBARI – El Sharara oilfield, the biggest oilfield in Libya, was producing around 285,000 barrels per day, a field engineer told Reuters on Friday.
Following the ongoing clashes in the capital, chairman of the Tripoli-based National Oil Corporation (NOC), Mustafa Sanalla, warned against future operations and the distribution of refined fuels are under threat.
“Protracted conflict threatens future operations and the distribution of refined fuels. Crude oil theft and smuggling are a direct threat to the integrity of the country,” Sanalla told participants at the Oil and Fuel Supply Chain Security Conference in London on Wednesday, April 17.
