TRIPOLI – The commander of the Western District operations room, Major General Abdul Salam al-Hassi, announce the commence of phase two of the military operation of the Libyan National Army (LNA) in Tripoli.
Speaking to Asharq Al-Awsat newspaper, Al-Hassi said this phase includes a military plan which targets forces of the Tripoli-based Government of National Accord (GNA) located in the areas of Baten Al-Jabal, Al-Hira and Al-Aziziyah.
Al-Hassi affirmed that LNA forces did not lose any of its positions in the suburbs of Tripoli, pointing out that LNA’s plan for advance requires slow movement to spare residents the risk of fighting.
The LNA Major General also hinted that “new developments” are about to happen, without elaborating any further.
