TRIPOLI – Interior Ministry of the Tripoli-based Government of National Accord (GNA) said it’s taking legal action against a ship of an Iranian company sanctioned by the United States, which docked last Monday at Misurata port.

This comes as international pressure began to amount against GNA to reveal details regarding the arrival of the ship to Libya.

In a statement released on Saturday, GNA’s Interior Ministry said the Attorney General has ordered the ship to be seized until an investigation regarding its cargo is completed.

GNA’s Interior Ministry said the ship is indeed sanctioned by the U.S. and carried on board a total of 144 containers.

The ministry did not disclose the content of these containers.
