The Address | Benghazi – Libya
BENGHAZI – General Commander of the Libyan National Army (LNA), Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar, received on Monday board member of the National Oil Corporation (NOC), Jadallah Al-Awakli, at LNA headquarters in the suburbs of Benghazi.
During the meeting, Al-Awakli voiced his support to LNA’s military operation to eliminate militias and terrorist groups in Tripoli.
Al-Awakli confirmed that the operations and activities of all companies in the oil sector are going normally.
“Fields and ports of all companies will not be attacked or abused as long as the Libyan National Army is there,” he said.
Al-Awakli pointed out that the Arabian Gulf Oil Company (AGOCO), Ras Lanuf Oil and Gas Processing Company (RASCO) and other stated-owned oil companies have released separate statement confirming that their work is going normally without any obstructions or disruptions.
AGOCO, RASCO, Sirte Oil Company and Al-Jouf Oil Technology Company affirmed that LNA is protecting the country’s oilfields and has fought, in multiple incidents, against militias which aimed to control them.
