Interim Government condemns terror attack on LNA in Sabha

The Address | Benghazi – Libya

TOBRUK – The Libyan Interim Government has condemned in a statement on Sunday the terror attack in Sabha which targeted a military camp of the Libyan National Army (LNA) on Saturday.

The Interim Government described the attackers as “rogue groups operate according to pre-existing agendas sponsored by certain foreign countries; and aimed at tearing up Libya and damaging its security and burning its capabilities.”

According to reports, the attack in Sabha resulted in the killing of at least seven soldiers from the LNA, one soldier was slaughtered, another was burned, while the rest were shot by a bullet to the head or chest.

The terror group ISIS has claimed responsibility for the attack, but several militias allied with the Tripoli-based Government of National Accord (GNA) have also alleged to be responsible for it.

This proves, according to the Interim Government, that militias which LNA is fighting in Tripoli include members of the terror group ISIS.

“The praise of a number of militias and their leaders for this attack is the best proof of that”.

Despite a claim of responsibility from ISIS, GNA-allied militias say it’s behind attack on LNA in Sabha
