Libyan Airlines pilot kidnapped in Tripoli

The Address | Benghazi – Libya

TRIPOLI – A pilot of Libyan Airlines was kidnapped Sunday morning in Tripoli by an unknown armed group, the company announced.

In a short statement via its Facebook page, Libyan Airlines said an unknown armed group broke into the hotel room of Captain Nawras Al-Atrash, originally from Benghazi, and carried him to unknown destination.

This comes in light of the escalation of kidnappings in the capital recently, after Tripoli-based Interior Minister Fathi Bashagha called for the arrest of whoever is found to be involved in undermining the security of the capital, as he put it.
