(DETAILED) LNA shoots down GNA’s Mirage F1 & arrests its Portuguese pilot

TRIPOLI – The Libyan National Army (LNA) shot down this morning a Mirage F1 warplane of the Tripoli-based Government of National Accord (GNA), and its arrested its Portuguese pilot.

According to LNA’s Military Information Division, the warplane was shot down at Al-Hira area, south of Tripoli, after it targeted LNA’s forces.

Spokesman of the General Command of the Libyan National Army (LNA), General Brigadier Ahmed al-Mesmari, had confirmed in mid April the presence of foreign soldiers and mercenaries fighting alongside GNA’s militias.
