AL-JUFRA, Libya – Photos showed the reconnaissance drone of the Tripoli-based Government of National Accord (GNA) militias, shot down by the Libyan National Army (LNA), was made in Turkey, proving its government involvement in supporting terrorists in Libya.
LNA air defenses shot down a Turkish-made reconnaissance drone on Tuesday in the vicinity of Al-Jufra area in the Central Region of Libya.
The drone took off from the Air Force College in Misurata.
LNA Spokesman Maj. Gen. Ahmad al-Mesmari said in a press conference on Wednesday that Turkey is also involved in the transfer of terrorists to Libya, pointing out that the European tour of the Head of the Tripoli-based Government of National Accord (GNA) Fayez al-Sarraj was to make deals for weapons and SAM 7 missiles.
LNA Spokesman had accused Turkey of supporting terrorists in Libya for years. He pointed out that Turkey contributed to the transfer of terrorists from Libya to Syria and to their armaments and payed the costs of their travel.
Turkey also strongly supported terrorists in Benghazi to fight LNA and supported Libya Dawn military operation which destroyed Tripoli International Airport and enabled terrorist groups and criminal militias to control Tripoli in 2014.
Al-Mismari said in statements to al-Ittihad newspaper that Turkey continues its direct support to the terrorist and criminal militias in Tripoli in support of the Muslim Brotherhood.
