TRIPOLI – Aerotranscargo, a Moldovan cargo plane coming from Turkey, suddenly changed destination from Tripoli to Misurata on Monday.
According to data provided by Flightradar24 website, the Boeing 747-412 plane took off from Sabiha Gokcen International Airport in Istanbul on yesterday’s afternoon and was scheduled to land in Mitiga Airport in Tripoli before changing course to Misurata on yesterday’s evening.
Data also shown that the plane made similar flights from Turkey to Misurata in the 13th and 14th of May. In both flights, Aerotranscargo was scheduled to land in Mitiga Airport before making a last-minute change to its destination and landing in Misurata.
In multiple incidents, Turkey was caught violating the UN-imposed arms embargo on Libya by sending arms to militias in Misurata and Tripoli.
Three days ago, a Moldovan-flagged cargo ship loaded with military vehicles arrived from Turkey to Tripoli. Al Somood militia, led by internationally-sanctioned warlord Salah Badi, posted pictures of the Turkish military vehicles on Facebook, celebrating their arrival.
