TRIPOLI – The Libyan National Army continued its advance towards central Tripoli after heavy fighting with armed groups and internationally-wanted militants in the southern suburbs of Tripoli.
Field sources told The Libyan Address Journal that the LNA units repulsed an attack on Tripoli International Airport, which has been under the LNA control since the start of military operations in Tripoli on April 4. The LNA units advanced north on the strategic airport road.
The source added that LNA units also advanced beyond the area of Qasr bin Ghashir in the south-east of Tripoli, under the cover of the Libyan air force, which carried out a number of air raids on the sites of terrorist groups in Tripoli and its environs.
