Jaafari: There are countries that facilitate transferring fighters from Syria to Libya

The Address | Benghazi – Libya

Syria’s permanent representative to the United Nations, Bashar al-Jaafari, confirmed that there are countries that help transfer fighters from Syria to Libya.

“How can the fighters be transferred from Syria to Libya unless the support of governments benefiting from it?” Jaafari asked during his address to the Security Council on Tuesday.

“We have warned against the transfer of fighters to neighboring countries,” Jaafari said, wondering whether the international community could not identify the countries that support terrorism.

The National Defense and Security Committee of the Libyan House of Representatives said last week that fighters from the Syrian terrorist al-Nusra Front have arrived in Libya through Turkey and stationed in the city of Zawia, west of Tripoli. They were received by the Abu Ubaidullah al-Zawi battalion, which fights in ranks of the government of Fayez al-Sarraj against the Libyan National Army forces in Tripoli.
