Musbah Douma, member of the Libyan House of Representatives on Sebha, said that the town of Murzuq in southern Libya is witnessing a state of ethnic cleansing of the against its people, carried out by the so-called “South Protection Force” allied with “mercenaries and terrorists and supported by the government of Fayez Sarraj in Tripoli.”
Douma said that clashes began in the city on the first day of the Eid al-Fitr holiday with indiscriminate shooting in the streets of the city, before the escalation of clashes since Thursday.
“What is happening in Murzuq is revenge against citizens because of their support for the Libyan National Army (LNA) to expel criminal and Chadian gangs from the region,” Douma added.
At least eight people have been killed while others were injured in tribal clashes in the town of Murzuq in the past three days.
