UNDP continues working in parts not affected by conflict in Libya

The Address | Benghazi – Libya

LIBYA – United Nations Development Program (UNDP) is continuing to work in parts not currently affected by fighting in Libya, again with stabilization measures, said UNDP Administrator Achim Steiner to AlMonitor.

“At the heart of this lies our conviction that the more people can see the value of a nation-state — of a government being functional — the less likely they are to either join political and violent extremism or to basically give up,” Steiner explained.

UNDP is working in Libya to support transition to an inclusive political agreement, accountable governance, stabilization, economic recovery and resilience, according to the UN organization.
