LNA depleted 70% of GNA forces, commander says

The Address | Benghazi – Libya

TRIPOLI – The Libyan National Army forces depleted more than 70% of the capabilities of the Tripoli-based Government of National Accord (GNA) forces in the battle to liberate Tripoli, said the Commander of the Western Military Region of LNA, Major General Idris Madi.

Madi explained in special statements to Union newspaper on Tuesday that LNA military operations exhausted militias supporting GNA in Tripoli, pointing to the transformation of these armed groups to defense position after shaking their capabilities, which are likely to collapse at any moment after failing to mobilize to attack LNA forces in different front lines in Tripoli.

The Commander pointed out that the resolution of the UN Security Council to inspect any naval piece destined for the Libyan ports will complicate the role of Turkey in finding a shipping company that is venturing its own naval piece to ship military equipment to Libya because it will expose itself to international sanctions after the last UN resolution.
