MADRID – Libya was the first supplier of crude oil to Spain during April and reached its historical maximum of 1,138 kilotons (kt), according to data from Spain’s state-owned CORES corporation.
CORES published on Monday a data analysis of Spain’s crude oil imports last month.
Libya was the main crude oil supplier to Spain for the first time since January 2018 with maximum of 1,138 kilotons (kt). It was followed by Mexico (814 kt) and Nigeria (775 kt).
Crude oil entries from the OPEC members decreased by 4.2% although they maintained a high share (63.2% of
the total). Imports increased from Saudi Arabia (+7.2% vs. April 2018) and diminished from Iraq (-25.8%). In the
year to date, imports presented a slight decline (-0.4%) vs. 2018.
