The Libyan National Army (LNA) on Friday announced that at least 12 Islamic State (ISIS) militants were killed in southern Libya.
The army “carried out a surprise attack against IS remnants hiding in Haruj mountains, and killed more than 12 terrorists of a group called the Lone Wolves,” the army’s information department said in a statement.
The army also destroyed six vehicles and seized several others, the statement added.
The terrorists hiding inside Haruj mountains in southern Libya are responsible for several terrorist attacks in the region, it noted.
In April and May, ISIS claimed responsibility for four terrorist attacks in southern Libya, which has been controlled by the army since January.
