Warfala tribal elders launch initiative to resolve Libyan crisis

The Address | Benghazi – Libya

BANI WALID – The Social Council of Warfala, one of the largest tribes in western Libya, released a statement on Sunday, in which they announced their “readiness to assume the national responsibility with all patriots through the committees of communication of various Libyan tribes and cities to end the crisis in the country”.

The Council said they were among the first to demand the creation of a military establishment and monopoly of arms to safeguard the homeland and fight terrorism, stressing that there is no stability with the proliferation of weapons and without the establishment of the army and police.

The Council rejected external interventions which they attributed to “politicians in the miserable political bodies”. They stressed the need for a single government that reflects all segments of Libyan society with all its political affiliations.
