Egypt’s President & UAE FM reiterate their support for combating terrorism in Libya

CAIRO – The Egyptian President, Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, held a meeting on Sunday with Foreign Minister of the United Arab Emirates, Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, in which they discuss a number of issues of common interest including Libya.

El-Sisi and Al Nahyan “agreed to support efforts to combat extremist organizations and eliminate terrorism that threatens the security and stability of Libya and the region as a whole,” according to a statement by the Egyptian presidency.

The two leaders reaffirmed the importance of the return of stability in Libya “in a way that paves the way for the establishment of constitutional entitlements to meet the aspirations of the Libyan people for a better future.”
